The Gwendolyn occurrence is located on an unnamed tributary of Leigh Creek, approximately 46 kilometres southwest of Prince George.

The area is underlain by Takla Group andesite, basalts, tuff, breccia, argillite, greywacke, shales, limestone and serpentinized ultrabasic rocks of the Upper Triassic and Lower Jurassic Topley intrusive.

Locally, a rock pit used for forestry roads contains garnierite, smithsonite, erythrite (cobalt bloom) and manganese in a serpentinite lens.

In 2007, a program of rock and soil sampling was completed. Rock samples returned up to 2551 parts per million nickel, 110.2 parts per million cobalt, 232.0 parts per million strontium, 237 parts per million vanadium and 26.10 parts per million yttrium (Assessment Report 30265).
